African Drumming

Our class started African drumming with Mr. Yingwana on Thursday.  I actually shouldn't call it drumming because it will entail so much more: singing, dancing, storytelling, and learning about South African culture.  Mr. Yingwana was born and raised in South Africa.  He was very involved in the anti-apartheid movement in the 1970s and 80s.  The kids enjoyed their first time with Mr. Yingwana by getting their first experience with polyrhythms.
