Moldy Bread Experiment

It took a while, but we are finally getting some results with our experiment!

Our first set includes our control (nothing touched it), dirty hands, washed hands, and hand-sanitizer hands.  NONE of those have mold (I think the "dirty hands" person actually had pretty clean hands - nice job). The cafeteria floor, however, is quite disgusting.

The second set is amazing - mostly bathrooms and toilet seats. Ugh. I was sanitizing our pencils each day - looks like it worked.

Let's get a close-up of the Girls' bathroom toilet seat. Yowza!

Our last set had several from Winnie the dog.  It looks like she's pretty clean.

There you have it folks.  Wash your hands!!!

Moldy Bread Experiment

So, it's Day 4 of the bread experiment we began on Friday.  So far....nothing. I'm wondering if there were too many preservatives in the bread I bought (preservatives are things added to bread to stop them from getting moldy too soon).  We'll see. I will post photos of the bread again on Friday.

Welcome to our Class Padlet

Hello all,

I have created a class Padlet.  A Padlet is an online tool that allows you to post messages, photos, links, etc.  This class Padlet will be a way for us to stay connected during this extended closure.  It is also a way for us to share resources.  Should the closure extend into April, I will utilize this as a teaching/learning tool as well. All postings will be reviewed and vetted by me once or twice a day.  Students may comment on other's postings, but comments need to be neutral or positive.  Here is the link to the padlet: https://padlet.com/jthomas151/Igtses2020
